1 DO NOW - 5 minutes 1.Create a SAY MEAN MATTER chart for the quote: “Pyramus was the most handsome of young men & Thisbe was the fairest beauty of the East.” - Ovid in Metamorphoses 1. Why did Ovid make Pyramus & Thisbe the most beautiful teens in the East? 2. How would the story be affected if Pyramus & Thisbe were ugly? 3. How would the story be affected if one Was ugly and one was beautiful? Write in complete sentences

2 COLLABORATIVE STATION: PEARSON UNIT 2, LESSON 1 & 2 Task 1A: Kahoot! -15 min. Kahoot Quiz on Ovid Background questions Task 3: Read & Annotate P & T 15 – 20 min. Read & annotate Pyramus & Thisbe for the five parts of plot. 1.Exposition 2.Rising Action 3.Climax 4.Falling Action 5.Resolution  Write at least 1 sentence that summarizes each plot part (5 sentences)  Include 1 quote per plot part that shows the main action Task 4: Read & annotate P & T with V.L.A.M.I.F. – 15 – 20 min  Analyze the characters of Pyramus & Thisbe with a V.L.A.M.I.F.  Find 1 quote from the story for each letter.  Explain how that quote proves Values, Longing, etc. with 1 sentence.  Each student can annotate for 1 or two letters.  E.g. VALUES: Pyramus values independence and freedom so that he could be with Thisbe.  He values love.  He values Thisbe. INDEPENDENT STATION Task 2: Storyboard of Pyramus & Thisbe 1.View my storyboard: www.bitstrips.com/r/NK 17Z 2.Go to: storyboardthat.com or www.bitstrips.com 3.Create a storyboard that tells your version of Pyramus & Thisbe. 4.You must include:  8 panels minimum  Dialogue & description in each panel.  A different ending than the original  adapt the story to modern times (like I did)  Two Lovers: change the characters names & faces but there must be two people in love  Conflict: They must be fighting to stay together against family, friends, society, etc.  Theme: There must be a message, moral, or lesson at the end..E.g.
