2 SMARTtag FAQs I forgot my password to the SMARTtag Campus Portal. On the desktop computer for the badge machine is a Notepad document titled SMARTtag Information. Login credentials have been included for you. I forgot my password to login to the LSI badge software. Please contact Troy Duval in Technology. My badge machine won’t print badges. Please submit a Technology KACE work order for technical support.

3 SMARTtag FAQs Where do I get supplies for my badge machine? Visit the Technology Standards List for badge ordering information. http://www.gpisd.org/Page/13190 Will the student badges we have now work as a SMARTtag? No. All campuses effective 04/01/2016 must purchase Part #770015 from Secured Mobility for all student ID badges even if the student does not ride the bus. These badges have HID chip technology in them that is now the standard for students District-wide. These badges are on the Standards List located on the Technology webpage.

4 SMARTtag FAQs Can our campus parents track their child’s bus using their smartphone? Transportation is working on the SMARTtag Parent Portal. More information on when that will go live will be available in the 2016-2017 school year. If a student transfers to a different bus, will that deactivate their badge? No. The student must badge on to the bus they are riding even if it has changed. However, it will show the driver that the student is on the wrong bus assigned to them. This information must be updated so that the data is accurate on the campus student rosters. Please email any necessary changes to transportation.resource@gpisd.org.

5 SMARTtag FAQs A student no longer at our District on our campus is appearing on our bus student roster. How can we remove that inactive student? Please email your request to have the student inactivated in Transfinder to transportation.resource@gpisd.org. transportation.resource@gpisd.org We have a new student enrolling and we have put them in Skyward but they are not coming up in the Campus Portal for us to assign a SMARTtag badge to them. Any student not found in the Campus Portal using their student ID, please email transportation.resource@gpisd.org. Please put NEW STUDENT in the subject line so priority is given to those students.transportation.resource@gpisd.org

6 SMARTtag FAQs I have forgotten how to read the Mission Control screen and I am not sure how to search for a student in the Campus Portal. Please email your request for a personal walk through of the Campus Portal and Transportation will schedule someone to provide you with hands on assistance with this new program. I have forgotten how to use the badge machine. Please contact Troy Duval in Technology for support.

7 SMARTtag FAQs There is a bus missing from our Mission Control screen. Please send an email to transportation.resource@gpisd.org and a Transportation Route Coordinator will make the necessary corrections.transportation.resource@gpisd.org We have a bus that has not shown up at our campus and I am not sure if what I see on Mission Control is correct. ETA on a bus can be requested through Dispatch by calling 972-343-4400. Or use your two way radio to request ETA from Dispatch.

8 SMARTtag FAQs How do I take a picture of a student for a badge? Please contact Troy Duval in Technology for support. My Campus Portal is working and my LSI software for student data is working but my badge reader is not reading the number off the badge to assign to a student. Make sure you have the GoToTags Window running in the background.

9 SMARTtag FAQs A student has lost their badge. Is there a replacement cost? No District-wide policy has been approved for Elementary Campuses. The campus can put in place their own policy for the 2015-2016 school year. The PRIORITY is that every student riding a bus must have a badge. New District-wide policies will be included District-wide in the 2016-2017 handbook. Who is the designated campus personnel responsible for creating badges and viewing the Campus Portal at our school? This decision is at the Principal’s discretion at each campus.

10 SMARTtag FAQs I do not see our regular bus number “In-Bound” to our campus and need the sub-bus number that will be transporting in that routes place. Any questions regarding sub-bus numbers for the day please call Dispatch at 972-343-4400. Sub-bus numbers will not appear on the Campus Portal. Are we able to track our field trip buses on our Campus Portal? No.
