2 What is a Tsunami?  A tsunami is a series of huge waves that happen after an undersea disturbance, such as an earthquake, landslide, or a volcanic eruption.

3 How Does a Tsunami Form? AAAA tsunami is formed when an undersea disturbance happens. AAAAn undersea disturbance can be landslide earthquake volcanic eruption.

4 Tsunami Facts  A tsunami can be high as 100ft.  It can travel up to 450 miles per hour.  Tsunamis can occur with little warning.  Sometimes people call tsunamis tidal waves but that is not correct.  In the 1990’s tsunamis killed more then 5,000 people worldwide.

9 How to Prepare  Tsunami warning centers in Honolulu and Palmer Alaska that monitor disturbances that might trigger a tsunami.  When a tsunami is recorded, the center tracks it and issues a warning when needed.  Get away from the shoreline right away.  When you see a tsunami its to late to escape.  Stay away until you hear from officials.  When the shore begins to move back, this is a sign of tsunami.  The top of the wave and its enormous volume of water usually hit the shore within 5 minutes after that.
