3 ●State Homeland Security Program (SHSP): Provides support for emergency first responders, critical infrastructure protection, terrorism prevention, training and exercises. ●Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP): Enhance the capabilities of law enforcement to detect, deter, and disrupt acts of terrorism by providing funding for information sharing and analysis, interoperable communications, threat recognition, and intervention activities. Homeland Security Funding

4 ●Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) provides funding to address the unique security needs of large metropolitan areas to enhance terrorism preparedness. ●ITEP is intended to promote proof of concept efforts with public private partnerships to deploy state of the art information technology in support of homeland security. 7 Funding Opportunities The Wisconsin Strategy: Build information sharing capacity among justice/public safety partners by providing infrastructure to enhance both strategic information sharing for planning and resource development and an effective tactical response.

8 What Can You Do? ●Identify you Homeland Security SAA ●Participate in Development and review of Strategic Plan ●Define nexus between homeland security and CJIS ●Develop local government funding stream

9 Homeland Security SAA ●Designated by Governor ●Must be the administering agency for ALL ODP funding ●Given wide discretion use and allocation of funds ●Must develop strategy based on threat assessment
