1 Narcissus By: Brian Roche 2 nd Period Language Arts

2 Introduction  Narcissus is the son of the river-god Kephisos.  Narcissus is from the town of Thespian in Boeotia.  He celebrated his beauty.

3 Background  Narcissus had been liked by many girls but he had rejected them.  Instead of girls narcissus fell in love with his own reflection.  Narcissus had watched his reflection all the time.

4 Claim to Fame  Narcissuses enemy is his own reflection because he had fallen in love with it and it had caused him to die.  Narcissus had no powers all he loved his his reflection so much that he died because of starvation.  His story of fame was staring at himself in the reflection of the pond.

5 Downfall  Narcissus downfall was starvation and dieing because he was staring at himself.  He wouldn’t eat because he was to busy staring at his reflection.

6 Tales  There are poems on Narcissus called From Danial to Frances, Gallimaufry.  Modern books- The Tears of Narcissus.
