1 + Clothing Styles in India By: Aricyn Gooden Breanna Hatfield Sarah Fecko

2 + People in India wore mostly cotton clothing. Men and Women wore one very long piece of cloth called a sari for men and called a dhoti (for mean is usually white). Women would wrap it around themselves in different ways. Rich women would wear silk cloths.

3 + Indian clothes are still wore today. there are several different types of uniforms that can be seen through the extent of the country.

4 + India’s school clothing is similar to the U.S because in some places we have uniforms also.

5 + In India, brides wear red. Brides may also choose to wear saris in shades of pink or maroon.

6 + Men and women’s clothing is different because men where white usually and women wear different colors.

7 + White is the color of abstinence Red is the color of dynamic and constantly breathing fire in the eyes of the beholder. The color blue, for instance, is associated with Lord Krishna, perhaps one of the most favored gods in India.

8 + green symbolizes a new beginning, harvest, and happiness.

9 + More Facts The “dot” or jewel that women wear is a cosmetic beauty mark. It also helps “concentration” The dot is called 'Kumkum' or 'Bindi', and when worn by men it is called 'Tilak' (mark). Usually Hindu women, priests, monks and worshippers wear it.
