2 Group interviews with subjects recruited for a purpose to understand how subjects conceptualize & reflect on topics Based on a focus group guide, draw participants into a discussion Often stimulated by dialogic materials—film, flyers, etc. Allow for diverse opinions and disagreements Analysts look for themes as well as omissions or silences Help generate appropriate language, concepts for other instruments or recommendations for interventions
