2 Education is the bedrock of development and a measure of the standard of living of any society. Categorization of the World into; First World and Third World, Developed, Developing and Under- developed, Education remains a major criteria. Majority of out-of-school children are found in the Third World and Under-developed Nations. These countries are poor and remain so because of their investment in Education. A country with weak Educational infrastructure is bound to keep raising at-risk-children, whose future are left to fate.

3 Recent figure reveals that there are 61million out- of-school children. 28.67million is more than the population of 198 of 242 Countries of the World; imagine these countries without Education?  28.67million will never enter school  15.86million have dropped out of school  16.47million start school late

4 Of the 61million out-of-school children, 36million (about 50%) live in Africa. Of this 36million, 31million (86.1%) live in the sub- Saharan Africa.

5 10.5million out-of- school children are Nigerian Children. 61,000,000 36,000,000 31,000,000 10,500,000  World  Africa  Sub-Sahara  Nigeria 17.21% of out-of-school children are Nigerians

7 21,122,583 million children of school age were recorded in 2007. An equivalent 8,653,439 million were out of School. For every 10 school age Children, 4 are out of school!

8 Nigeria population is growing astronomically, with over 40% between 0-14years, without education, what fate await them in the Future?

9 The Government holds the primary responsibility to create an enabling environment for every child to be enrolled in school. Parents hold their Children the chief goal of preparing them for a better tomorrow by enrolling them in school and ensuring they stay in school. Together they hold the responsibility of raising Citizens equipped with the right Education and Values to make the Family, Community, Nation and the World a better place Federal Local State
