2. Observation Snug Harbor is said to be haunted because workers who work at Snug Harbor have experienced unusual things like seeing a women with a white dress, doors constantly unlocking themselves, to objects moving from one place to another, women dancing in the music hall, bell ringing unexpectedly, and even chains rattling from a basement. Ghost Hunters & Ghost Adventures have visited Snug Harbor to catch the ghost and speak to them to understand the history

3. History Robert Richard Randall known as the sea captain has been a philanthropist who has helped retired sailors and provided them with homes at Snug Harbor. Robert Richard Randall founded Snug Harbor in 1801 it was built to provide care for retired sailors. It opened in 1833 and was the home for retired sailors. They had matrons which was female staff cooking, cleaning, and providing care for their patients. One of the matron broke a rule which was having an affair with someone living or working at Snug Harbor and getting pregnant without having a husband. She kept a secret until her son who was thirteen at the time escaped from the basement in which he was chained to the bed stabbed his mother and was hung to a tree.

4. Questions Did the spirits follow you ? Why did the people hang the child and not done something else with him besides killing him ? Was the priest a bad person ?

5. Our Hypothesis If we capture more EVP’s at night than day then it supports the idea that ghosts are more active at night. If we capture more responses ( visual / verbal ) to men or women, does this mean that ghosts have a gender preference

6. Location Snug Harbor is located on the North Shore of Staten Island in New York Time Of Investigation Number Of Students During The Day & Night During the Day trip only 17 went During the Night only 8 went

7. Equipment Used EVP’s – Electronic voice phenomena are sounds found on electronic recordings which resembles speech Voice recorders Spirit Box - A device used for contacting spirits through the use of radio frequency.

8. Procedures/Techniques Used We were asking questions We used the EVP’s We were taking picture to see if we could capture any ghost on the camera We used the spirit box and spoke to the ghost

11. Personal Experiences I heard the ghost on the spirit box he said his name was Pete and that the lady in white was killed by a gun. I was taking pictures of the governors house and that’s when I zoom in and see that there is a face of a man or women looking out the window which was very creepy because nobody was inside the house.

12. Hypothesis If we capture more EVP’s at night than day. Then it supports the idea that ghosts are more active night. The hypothesis was wrong because we had more EVP’s at daytime than nighttime because the ghost were answering our questions at daytime and not so much at nighttime. If we capture more responses ( visual / verbal ) to men or women, does this mean that ghosts have a gender preference Its undecided because it was answering some of the people of the group but it might be the female that they respond more to.

13. Errors People were agreeing and disagreeing with what the ghost were saying on the spirit box At nighttime when the camera had the flash people were thinking everything the saw was a ghost but it looked like dust but other did seem like an orb

14. Conclusion I do think the house is haunted because the spirits did speak to us and I did see a ghost on my phone so I do believe the house is haunted. There are ghost in that house because I have the picture of it on my phone It maybe possible that the ghost responded more to the female voices Their might be more paranormal activity at daytime because we got more responses from the spirits and not so much at the nighttime.

15. Summary My experience throughout this week is that I do believe that ghost do exist. I captured an image of a person on my phone and it was very scary we were asking questions to the spirits and they were responding. I some what believe in the alleged haunted stories they have in Snug Harbor because the workers have experienced paranormal activity.
