3 www.qualityaction.eu Criteria for selecting existing tools or similar instruments The tool should have been evaluated. There should be documentation proving the tool works. The tool should have been demonstrated to be suitable for HIV Health Promotion and Prevention. It should be possible to integrate key concepts from the international response. The tool should be practical and possible to make user-friendly to ensure good participation.

4 www.qualityaction.eu Existing tools adapted and applied Succeed Straight forward, versatile questionnaire with a self-diagostic approach. Ambition levels can be adapted. QIP (Quality in Prevention) Comprehensive and extensive web-based questionnaire. Assessment based on defined scoring. Possibility for external scoring and written advice. PQD ( Participatory Quality Development) A toolbox of participatory methodologies to help develop your intervention.

5 www.qualityaction.eu New tools developed and tested PIQA (People who inject drugs + Quality Assurance) Questionnaire and scoring card for self assessment and quality assurance. Adapted to the challenges of prevention of Hiv and Hepatitis for PWID. Shift (QI Programme Tool) Strategic approach to assessing and prioritising national and sub-national prevention programmes. Uses and feeds into other data collection and analysis efforts (e.g. Dublin reporting).

Extra print-out version for Succeed User guides for all tools Scoring guide ( when applicable) Background information Case studies for Succeed and PQD PPT for presentation or training purposes Checklist for, and overview of, each tool General translation guidelines and a facilitation guide !

7 www.qualityaction.eu How to find the right tool 1.Go to the Tool Selection Guide 2. Use the algoritm at page 2 answering: Is it a program or project ? If project, key population/ target group? Young or mature project? Small medium or large project ? 3.The answer will lead you to a smaller selection of of tools. 4. The guide will then help you compare them
