2. Welcome! This evening’s meeting agenda: Discussion regarding the future of the Lovin’ on the Lakes Plan Pee wee Football Championships

3. Goals Create a state park around the top two lakes Restrict activities on the lower lakes Boats and jet skis only allowed from 10am – 8pm Limit number of licenses available for boats, jet skis, and fishing Limit engine size of boats to nine horsepower Give carbon cards to boat and jet ski owners to monitor the output Set up zoning regulations for development around the bottom lakes and do not allow chain stores Buildings no larger than three stories Educate and work with the community and tribe Plant trees and clean up the area Place limits on commercial fishing

4. Action Plans: Program 1: State Park Work with the tribe, local government, tourism industry, and community to collect funds Talk with state government to get approval Hire park rangers

5. Action Plans: Program 2: Lower Lake Educate community and tourists about lake restrictions Gradually introduce the restrictions Boat engines = less than 9 horsepower Limit time for activities from 10am - 8pm Work with law enforcement to manage restrictions

6. Action Plans: Program 3: Local Tourism Lake access still granted to casino Limit development around the lakes No chain stores Buildings less than 3 stories tall and no closer than 100 feet from lake Nature trails, camping, canoeing, and kayaking in the state park

7. Questions from you: What obstacles and challenges do you see that you would like addressed?

8. 1. Where are you getting the money to make a state park? We will work with the tribe, local government, tourism industry, and community to raise funds.2% per year of the profit from the casino and tourism industry is to be donated to the park upkeep

9. 2. By restricting activities on the lake won’t that hinder tourism and lose money for the area? Restricting activities on the lake will cut down on carbon emissions and water pollution, which will make the area more appealing. This will increase the sustainability of the ecosystems in and around the lakes. The restrictions are only limiting the amount of time one can use their water craft on the lower lakes. Tourism will be protected through the state park and money will be brought in by the casinos and local establishments.

10. 3. How are you going to enforce these restrictions? We are going to enforce them by gradually introducing restrictions, holding information sessions for local citizens, and working with law enforcement to monitor restrictions. We will use fines, bans, license removal, community service sentences. Carbon cards will be used to monitor pollutants from watercraft. This will help not only our community, but the global warming issue as a whole

11. 4. What about development on the lake?! There will be a zoning regulation that prohibits development within 100 feet of the lower lakes. Buildings will also not be built more than three stories in height. Chain establishments will not be legal on the borders of the lakes This will help local businesses and keep human disturbance in the area minimal, so natural cycles will be allowed to occur

13. 5. So the casinos are giving money to the state parks, but how do we benefit from this plan? Native Americans will still have access to the lakes for their own uses as well as the casino. The casino will remain as the biggest development and profitable tourist attraction on the lake.
