19 What is gender mainstreaming What is gender mainstreaming "Mainstreaming a gender perspective is the process of assessing the implications for women and men of any planned action, including legislation, policies or programmes, in all areas and at all E.1997.L.O. A gender sensitive approach in the whole production process of statistics and indicators, including presentation of sex aggregated data. A gender perspective in all traditional statistical fields as a cross disciplinary approach.
