2. Curbside Assembly Procedure # 1 Children should gather as a group and wait to be crossed. Stand one step back from the curb or edge of roadway.

3. Select an Opportune Time to Cross Procedure # 2 Use a marker to help set a vehicle stopping distance. Manage gaps in traffic using the STOP paddle.

4. Enter the Crosswalk Procedure # 3 Enter the crosswalk after all traffic has stopped.

5. Stop Far-side Traffic Procedure # 4 Make eye contact with: 1.approaching motorists 2.motorists in each lane

6. Take Position Procedure # 5 Wait until all traffic has stopped and the crosswalk is clear of vehicles before instructing children to cross.

7. Initiate Crossing Procedure # 6 Give children verbal instructions to cross.

8. Maintain Position Procedure # 7 Continue to hold STOP paddle in the raised position. Remain in the crosswalk until the last child has cleared the road.

9. Return to Starting Curb Procedure # 8 Remain alert for traffic. Continue to display the STOP paddle until you leave the roadway.
