2. Secret Training facility for Spies during WWII Located in Whitby, Ontario (Just east of Toronto)

3. Leader William Stephenson was selected to head the organization which was responsible to coordinating British Intelligence (MI5, MI6) in the Western Hemisphere Most of the office staff were recruited in Canada, particularly Toronto BSC representatives attracted potential recruits through adds placed in local newspapers.

4. Spy School Begins... December 6th, 1941, one day before the attack on Pearl Harbour, Camp X became operational, the first secret agent training school in North America. Agent training at Camp X was extremely rigorous and ran nonstop round the clock, winter and summer. The Camp’s curriculum, which was designed to make or break potential agents, covered a variety of intelligence / counter intelligence and infiltration techniques.

5. Post WWII Hundreds of agents were trained as spies and then sent behind enemy lines The Camp played an integral role in the subsequent development of the OSS, now the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Following WWII, the camp went on to serve as a secret transmission facility during the cold war.

6. James Bond Ian Fleming creator of the character James Bond received his secret agent training at Camp X. Fleming took many of his storylines for the novels from actual Missions performed out of Camp X Goldfinger's raid on Fort Knox was inspired by Intrepid's plan to steal Vichy French gold from Martinique.

7. Camp X in history The work of the Camp X agents went unnoticed as with all secret spy missions, until recently. As time passes many milestones are being passed in which Top Secret documents can be released, with it comes a new appreciation of their work.
