Choices

Look carefully at the picture below: Do you know what important event it shows for Mary?

The picture shows the Angel Gabriel visiting Mary with a big question. Mary was asked to have a baby that would be the Son of God. She could have chosen to say “NO” to what God had asked her to do but instead she said “YES” to God’s call. In October we think about Mary and the example that she sets for us. She showed great courage and great faith in God to trust that the plan that God had for her was the right one

Look closely at the picture on the next slide

Which of the two paths would you choose? Why did you choose it? Do you think these same feelings influence the way you make choices in your everyday life?

Read these words from Scripture about the choices that God gives to us “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully! “Happy are those who are merciful to others; God will be merciful to them! “Happy are the pure in heart; they will see God! “Happy are those who work for peace; God will call them his children! (Matthew 5: 6-9)

Lord, Jesus, help me to think carefully when I have choices to make Help me to be more like Mary, to stay awake and to Listen to your call to do the right thing, Amen
