Presentation transcript:

 Please write your HW in your agenda.  Update your table of contents:  Write the date and “The Nature of Science” at the top of page 2.  On page 2 respond in no more than 3 lines: What does it mean to “do science?” Page #Title 1Class Syllabus 2-3The Nature of Science

 Do not touch, turn, lift, or open the cube.  With your group, write questions that you have about the cube on page 2.

 You must propose an answer to this question by presenting evidence that supports your claim. › Evidence refers to the observations that your group can make about the visible sides of the cube.  Write your observations down on page 2.  Once you have agreed on a conclusion write it below your observations. **Be prepared to share your conclusion and evidence with the class. **

 Please take a guided notes sheet from the front cart and glue/tape it in on page 3.  Remember to use only a little glue so you can still write on the sheet without a mess!

 Science originates in questions about the world.  Science uses observations to construct explanations (answers to the questions).  Scientists make their explanations public through presentations at meetings and journals.  Scientists present their explanations and critique the explanations proposed by other scientists.

 On an index card, write: › 1 piece of information you learned › 1 piece of information that you found interesting › 1 question about today’s lesson or what we learned
