New Grants System Why? What? When? Future Vision Plan was introduced 3 years ago and it intended to achieve the followings: Simplify the program and procedure Support sustainable projects Focus on service Greatest impact by addressing priority Increase sense of ownership Greater understanding and enhance global image 2Rotary Year Engage Rotary Change Lives

District Grants (replacing the District Simplified grants) Global Grants (replacing the Matching Grants) Packaged Grants (fully funded) Emphasis on district and club stewardship and financial management Club qualification process and signing of MOU Preparation of the financial management plan and the opening of separate bank accounts for grant funds 3Rotary Year Engage Rotary Change Lives New Grants Structure With effective from

Experience to-date “Problems Encountered” for Global Grants Applications DRFC Chair has not been notified No contacts with Grants sub-com chair Not knowing whether sister clubs have obtained club qualification and sufficient DDF from district No knowing the assessment mechanism for Global Grant Applications at both RI and district levels Not yet submit the application through RI website Beware of change in password setting and revamp of RI website 12Rotary Year Engage Rotary Change Lives

Global Grants Application Update DDF for global grant: USD102,979 DDF for scholarship and vocational training teams: US$40,000 Funding for some district or club projects: US$62,979 (divided into 2 equal portions of US$31, with deadlines for application on Stage 1: 30 September 2013(Monday) (closed) approved DDF of USD22,500 for 6 applications and 3 applications under consideration Stage 2: 15 November 2013(Friday) 13Rotary Year Engage Rotary Change Lives

Stage 1 District Grants Application closed on 30 August 2013 (Fri). The District Grants Committee after consideration has approved 12 applications which amount to the district grants of USD38,800.
