This lesson is to serve as a continuation of last week’s Lesson opener – The lesson opener can be found herehere

SS6G8 The student will locate selected features of Europe a.Locate on a world and regional political- physical map: the Danube River, Rhine River, English Channel, Mediterranean Sea, European Plain, the Alps, Pyrenees, Ural Mountains, Iberian Peninsula, and Scandinavian Peninsula. b.Locate on a world and regional political-physical map the countries of Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, and United Kingdom.

How would this lesson run? Each student will be given a blank map. Using the links in the instructional Powerpoint, students will fill in the names of the countries, rivers, and landforms. They will also find some interesting facts about some of the countries. Students will test their knowledge by playing the online drag-and-drop/selection games.

Materials Necessary for Lesson Internet access Blank Europe Map (as shown below) – Students will draw the landforms and rivers
