Saturn's Rings  Saturn has several hundred rings. However it is not the only planet with rings.  Saturn's rings consists of billion of pieces of ice. The rings are around 20m thick.  With a small telescope, one can see the bright rings of Saturn. Saturn’s rings are held together by gravity

 Saturn is the second largest planet in the full solar system. [Jupiter being the largest]  The smallest planet in the solar system is Pluto.  Saturn distance from the sun is 1,427,000,000km which is very far.  Saturn is the 6 th furthest planet the sun the closest is Mercury.

 Saturn has 18 moons even more than Jupiter.  Saturn’s biggest moon is Titan, which has a thick atmosphere. Titan is bigger than the planet Mercury. Some astronomers think that it may be able to support life.

 It takes 10 hours and 14 minutes for Saturn to rotate right round.  It takes 29.5 years for the planet to orbit the sun.  Saturn is probably the most beautiful object in the sky. Saturn is about the same age as the sun 4.5 million years old.
