WHO WAS HE?? Pythagoras was a mathematician who lived in around 500BC. Pythagoras was in a group of people who lived in a certain way to be very pure and they wore simple clothing and went every where bare foot. Pythagoreans liked music and math because they were orderly and made sense. There is only one problem with this piece of history and that is that someone else could have actually discovered the theorem before Pythagoras and the idea could have been stolen and put in Pythagoras’ name. I say this is because the Sumerians knew about the Pythagoras theorem way before Pythagoras was born, but Pythagoras was the one who proved that it worked all the time.

WHAT IS THE THEOREM? The Pythagoras theorem states that the two sides of the square angle can be squared then added to each other is to equal the squared length of the hypotenuse, which is the long side. So as a mathematical equation it would look like this: A squared+ B squared = C squared.

WHEN IS THIS USEFUL? You can use the Pythagoras theorem to plot the length of one side of a triangle when building, or to plot the distance something has gone when it is far away. THE END
