Presentation transcript:

What do we know? The need for Rotary humanitarian service and fellowship are expanding everywhere. Our numbers must grow if we are to meet this need. Our numbers have been declining, not growing. As club and district leaders, it is our responsibility to reverse this trend – to increase our membership and our resources.

What can we do? Recruit: Find qualified new members Retain: Get them involved and keep them involved Recognize: Celebrate members and their service above self

What are your club values? Do you have a club leadership plan? a strategic plan? a club vision?

Vision and Values Are your club vision and values articulated on your web site? in a brochure? in a short, concise statement that all your club members know and can repeat? The elevator speech.

Vision and Values What is your ideal membership goal? numbers, diversity, vocational classifications

Prospecting for new members

Vision and Values How do you serve the ideals of Rotary (as opposed to another service club)? What makes membership in your club special? worth time and resources?

What is your membership strategy? Qualifications for new members Where will you look? How will you attract potential members to your club?

When you know who you want, how will you bring them in? Who will make the contact and how? How will you get them to visit your club? What information do you have to give them? What is your process for membership approval? Do you have an induction ceremony and orientation?

How will you keep members in? How can you keep your members involved in your club fellowship and projects? How do you address resigning members? members with low attendance or involvement? What is the quality and relevance of your programs and projects?

Membership = Sharing Rotary!
