Many Vietnamese in South didn’t like President Diem! President Diem in South was corrupt- it was suppose to be a democracy! Who were the Vietcong? Vietnamese in the South that really supported Ho Chi Minh in the north and wanted a united Vietnam. How did the Vietnam War end? 1 st Major war America Lost! No parades for the Vietnam Veterans 58,000 Americans Died Approximately 1.5 Million Vietnamese Died 1975 Americans leave South Vietnam and army in North takes over and unites the country!

One United Country Ho Chi Minh is considered to be a Hero of Vietnam! Vietnam becomes communist politically and is still communist today! The capital of South Vietnam, Saigon is renamed Ho Chi Minh City. Uncle “Ho” died before the end of the war.
