FD Purpose/Vision Statement To create a positive school environment and community of learners and staff who foster pride in academic and social successes by empowering students to persevere, be respectful, uphold integrity, be dependable and strive for excellence.

Goal: Review what P stand for and learn what R means in PRIDE

per·se·ver·ance : steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement… P is for Perseverance

Meaning of the R in PRIDE Essential Question: What exactly does the R in PRIDE stand for? R in PRIDE stand for Respect

R is for Respect Respect is the sense of worth or excellence in a person Respect can be shown by respecting yourself, your teachers, your peers, and school property

Respect is shown…. When you pay attention to what people are saying. When you pay attention to what you say, do, and wear---HOW YOU PRESENT YOURSELF TO OTHERS. When you are fair towards others. When you give other people time to say what they want to say. When you are sensitive to people’s thoughts and feelings. When you follow instructions the first time they are given. Respect involves a decision to obey rules or directives that are put into place by authorities. Respect
