2 Workshop Objectives Technical discussions for a National Climate Service Portal Enhance the accessibility and usability of NOAA climate data, products, services—e.g., datasets, climate monitoring, predictions, etc Focus initially on the most-used products, not on existing access systems Enhance interoperability and leveraging of software and product development, including discussion of web technologies & standards to focus our efforts Address metadata standards and requirements Promote consistency in web-based climate services delivery across NOAA Determine plans and timelines for NCS Portal “Phase 1” along with beta-testing plan, etc Establish “business rules” and governing board for the NCS Portal
