The United States Department of Transportation Case 25, 1995 was a positive decision toward the Decision and Policy from experts under the utilization of bicycles as Transportation The City of Austin Street Smarts Task Force of 2008 assistance in receiving the City of Austin Award the Friendly Community the Silver Level (a 4 Level Category: Platinum, Gold, Silver, & Bronze) by The League of American Bicyclist (1996/rev.2002) which was established in 1880 and considers the 5E’s: Engineering; Education; Encouragement; Enforcement; Evaluation & Planning

The Promotions of Health; Wealth; and Freedom, The Municipality Government estimate of: Finances = Savings: Tails: $1 Million per mile; Bike Lanes: $5,000 a mile; $100 Parks 2 bikes, $40,000 garages 1 car; 20 bike cops = 1 police cruiser a) Funding & Infrastructure (lack of funding) b) Benefit & society as a whole (unsafe motorist accidents & cost) c) Bicycle Races and Clubs.

 Lack of areas for cyclists to ride safely  Cyclists aren’t only doing it for exercise  Students cycle to school  Some professionals cycle to work  Less chance of a cyclist getting crossed by driver  Less chance of death or accident to occur with dedicated cycling lanes.

 Adding the lanes will decrease amounts of traffic in some areas  Cycle lanes will make it more safe and more fun for people to get out and ride  The space is already available in A LOT of areas  Much needed jobs can be created  El Paso won’t be claimed as one of the fattest cities…
