Presentation transcript:

I want you to come up with five aspects that define your culture. I want you to take one of those aspects and tell me why at least two details describes you. (Think outside the box)

We will look at where we came from We will look at the flow of history that we will take this year We will look at the Native Populations in Georgia

With half of page 26 I want you to draw a family tree Start with yourself at the bottom and go back using names as far as you can If you don’t know much of your family make up one or use one in a movie

Thought to have come over from Asia across bearing straight Native Americans evolved over time becoming more advanced socially, intellectually, and technologically PAW M A great way to remember the order is Paleo Ate Wild Mammoth or $$$$

BCE Primarily Nomadic Historic hunter gatherers Mainly used spears Paleo Indians lived in animal skin huts Artifacts found in all five main regions of GA Paleo literally means very old

BCE Came from Paleo Indians primarily Also nomadic Created ATLATL that is used to throw spears Also developed pottery

1000 BCE CE First group to settle into villages First to use bow and arrow Still hunter gatherers but relied more on growing food (Corn) They were the first Mound builders

CE Most evolved of the original Native Americans in Georgia They were mound builders and traders Established Societies with Chieftains First group to encounter Europeans like De Soto

I want you to create a four venn diagram comparing the four major groups (PAWM) Try to come up with two in each section of your diagram Take the entirety of page 25 to draw and fill in your chart

With a partner I need you to do the following Who are you (name) What you focus on for food When you existed Where in GA do you stay Why are you better than everyone else (Rap or song about your way of life)

I want you to imagine you are a Paleo Indian. I want you to come up with two activities you would do for fun and two activities you would do in order to live
