Primitive Graphics Game

Look familiar? World Of Goo: Original version built in a week by college students: ure/130848/how_to_prototype_a_ga me_in_under_7_.php ure/130848/how_to_prototype_a_ga me_in_under_7_.php

Their rules One semester 50 games Three rules: – Each game must be made in less than seven days – Each game must be made by exactly one person – Each game must be based around a common theme i.e. "gravity", "vegetation", "swarms", etc.

Lessons Rapid is a state of mind – More Time != More Quality – Work fast – Embrace failure

Lessons Focus on the good stuff – Core mechanics come first – Make it juicy – user interaction – Fake everything you can

Lessons Creativity loves constraints – Pick a theme or challenge Don't pick a genre Examples:

Primitive Game Project Alpha due In One Week (Mon 9 th ) – In class testing and feedback Final version due Wed 18 th – In class playtest & scoring Rules: – Must only use geometric primitive graphics Circles/Squares/Triangles, etc….
