Physical Imprisonment & Bondage Represent a Spiritual Condition Simon was “bound by iniquity” (Acts 8:23) False teachers try to “bring us into bondage” (Galatians 2:4; 2 Peter 2:19) Sin is slavery (John 8:32-34) The Lord can set us free!The Lord can set us free! (John 8:36; Isaiah 61:1)

Paralleling Acts 12 to the Spiritual Bondage of Christians Herod (like Satan) harasses the church Acts 12:1-2; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:17 Peter is imprisoned (like Christians who fall prey to Satan) Acts 12:3-4; 2 Timothy 2:26; Romans 6:20-21 God’s people pray for the prisoner’s deliverance.
