8 Things God Doesn’t Want
God Doesn’t Want Me To Be Free

Is Anyone Really Free? We live in the land of the free
With freedom comes great responsibility What does it mean to be “free in Christ”?

Freedom In Christ Psalm 119:45 -- I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.

Luke 4: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed…. (Isaiah 61:1)

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Freed for freedom – not the flesh
Galatians 5:1, 13 --It was for freedom that Christ set us free ; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. … For you were called to freedom, brethren ; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Not As A Cloak For Evil 1 Peter 2:16 --Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.

We Are Slaves To God This fact was recognized by the first century saints Rom. 1:1; James 1:1; 2 Peter 1:1; Jude 1:1

We have been bought 1 Corinthians 6: Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own ? 20 For you have been bought with a price : therefore glorify God in your body.

Luke 17: "Which of you, having a slave…will say to him … 'Come immediately and sit down to eat'? 8 "But will he not say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me while I eat …"He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? 10 "So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy slaves ; we have done only that which we ought to have done.' "

We Are Saved To Serve 1 Corinthians 4:1 --So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.

1 Thessalonians 1:9 …for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God….

Romans 6:16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Philippians 2:7 …but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
