Banned Books Research Project Sara Spanos English I Honors – 3 rd 12 April 2010

by Justin Richardson & Peter Parnell Published 2005 Based on the true story of two male penguins at the Central Park Zoo who built a nest and hatched a chick together

Since 2006, And Tango Makes Three has been the most challenged book in the United States. Reasons given in formal written complaints to remove the book from library shelves are that the book is:  anti-ethnic  anti-family  portrays homosexuality as “normal”  has an inappropriate religious viewpoint  is unsuitable for its age group ( "Banned & Challenged Books" )
