Presentation transcript:

 Source Document:  1 st Idea – Web form that would be a pre-existing grocery list. Designed to help people with faster grocery shopping that yields healthy results.   2 nd Idea – Design posters that are motivational for coworkers to help motivate them to eat healthier while at work. (There are always so many doughnuts and junk food around)  Professional-Information-Posters Professional-Information-Posters

 Business Professionals who are stuck in an office day after day after day  Want people to be healthier = happier= more productive=better work quality  Information is concise to attract users.

 Outlined goals and objectives  Outlined user needs  Defined the scope  Developed a schedule  Evaluated project dependencies  Completed user testing

 Technology tools  Technical Experience  Writing and Design  Audience Understanding

 1) Considered users  2) Outlined my structure  3) Developed style guidelines  4) Used minimalist strategy

 Developed web form content first which drove the presentation  Developed poster presentation first, which drove the content  Both worked equally well

 4 ways to really mess up › Resisting change to design › Resisting user feedback › Scope creep › Re-using everything I can

 Scheduled reviews (Yes, even in a team of one reviews do work!)  Design and Evaluation  User testing pitfalls – Too many suggested changes or too many suggestions that are not useful.

 My punch list: › Spell checking › Style › Alignment › Readability › Verifying links › Verifying attachments › Testing › Reviewing tester’s comments

 Right: Planning is essential  Right: Get user feedback early  Improvement Needed: Asking targeted questions of users  Improvement Needed: Learning technology before I need it

 Thanks all for viewing my presentation!  I hope someday to not sit behind a desk all day and actually be able to get out there and motivate people to lead healthy and active lives. This is my small attempt to change my surroundings. Even if one person benefits, I feel this will have been a success.
