Metasolv-OCDM Connector Metasolv OCDM

What is the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model? The Oracle Communications Metasolv and Solution Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model is a connector developed for Lumosnet to enable the data loading from MSS to the Oracle Communications Data Model. You can use the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model to populate the foundation layer (that is, the base, reference, and lookup tables) of an Oracle Communications Data Model warehouse with data from an Oracle Metasolv (MSS) system.

Components of the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model The MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model uses the following components: MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model Database Schemas. Schema Definitions Added for the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model. Oracle Data Integrator.

MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model Database Schemas Source schemas the source system is Oracle Communications Metasolv Solution Management and database schemas. Staging layer schema. The MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model uses a staging area when loading data from the MSS system to the foundation layer objects of an Oracle Communications Data Model warehouse. The staging layer contains changed data and historical data storage and provides the source schema to load Oracle Communications Data Model tables. Target schema. The target of the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model is an Oracle Communications Data Model warehouse. The specific target objects are the foundation layer objects of the Oracle Communications Data Model. These objects are defined in the ocdm_sys schema (Oracle Communications Data Model).

MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model Execution Flows

Data Loading Approach While loading data from source to foundation through stage, the execution process is as follows: (Steps 1 and 3 in the diagram) The adapter, using ODI, loads the data from the source database into stage database. (Steps 2 and 5 in the diagram) Using pre and post procedures, the adapter loads data into several stage tables; for example, lastday, delta and history tables. (Step 4 in the diagram) The adapter loads the delta tables in the staging area for the condition as: key column data available in Lastday table but not available in Normal table (Step5 in the diagram) Finally data is loading into delta history table from delta table. After this step we are capturing the data for all operation like : Insert, update, delete and unchange. (Step 6 in diagram) The adapter loads the data from the delta tables into foundation layer of the Oracle Communications Data Model warehouse.

Populating a Warehouse Using the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model You use the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model to populate or refresh the foundation layer of the Oracle Communications Data Model warehouse (that is, the base, reference, and lookup tables defined in the OCDM_SYS schema). For more information, see: 1. Performing an Initial Load with the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model 2. Refreshing the Data Using the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model (Change Data Capture: CDC) After you use the MSS Adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model to populate the foundation layer, you populate or refresh the access layer of the Oracle Communications Data Model (that is, the derived tables, aggregate tables, OLAP cubes, and data mining models defined in the ocdm_sys schema) in the same manner as you would if you were not using an application adapter for Oracle Communications Data Model to populate the foundation layer.
