Conferences and Workshops II QEST (International Conference of the Quantitative Evaluation of Systems), Organized by Twente Stochastic work of the AMETIST project was well-represented.

Presentations to Wide Audience I F. Vaandrager gave an invited presentation about AMETIST results at a seminar of Belgium Federated Centre for Verification, at ULB in Brussels. M Hendriks presented “Model Checker Aided Design of a Controller for a Wafer Scanner” (ISOLA'04), Cyprus, in 11/04. Industrial participation. The paper is referred to in patent application ASML ref. P

Presentations to Wide Audience II O. Maler presented the unified approach for controller and scheduler sysnthesis at: 1) Control workshop at Lund; 2) Wodes conference at Reims; 3) Meeting of the French Cortos project; 4) Meeting of a French Scheduling working group

Further Industrial Exploitation Together with the company Imtech, partner KUN is preparing a Dutch research proposal to improve the I-matic method and tools for design of complex production machines. One specific goal of the project is to extend I-matic model checking environment to a timed setting, using Ametist results.

Approaching the AI Planning Community The applicability of timed automata for testing coherence of real-time plans for space vehicles has been demonstrated by joint work of Verimag and NASA Contacts with people at LAAS about giving formal timed semantics to plan description languages used in robotics and space.

Relations with other Projects and NoE Dortmund and Twente are partners in the Hycon network Aalborg, Twente and Verimag are part of the Artist network. Interaction between Ametist and the projects CC (on controller synthesis) and Omega (UML). Some Ametist results were exploited in Omega.
