The Great Barrier Reef By: Alex Sullivan

The Great Barrier Reef has many beautiful sites to see. It is home to hundreds of living things. It is found near Australia.

Location The great Barrier reef is located off the north-east coasts of Australia.

Life The Great Barrier Reef has a ton of life in it. It is home to a ton of living creatures such as corals and fish. There are about 1,400 species of fish only!

Climate Most of the coral reefs are in the tropics including the Great Barrier Reef. It is normally hot there, not very much rain. Only about 600 millimeters every 10 years.

Fun Facts The Great Barrier reef is the largest coral reef on Earth reaching 1,250 miles long! The Great Barrier Reef is the only living thing that you can see from space! Parts of the Great Barrier Reef is more than 18 million years old. It is made of over 900 islands and 8,000 coral reefs!
