Bill O Reilly Codi Crane Journalism 1 4 th period

Full Name- William James O'Reilly Jr. Occupation- Talk Show Host, Journalist Spouse: Maureen E. McPhilmy (m. 1996–2011) Children: Madeline O'Reilly, Spencer O'Reilly Birth Date- September 10, 1949 (Age: 64) Place of Birth- New York, New York Education- Marist University, Boston University, Harvard University Best Known For- Bill O'Reilly is the host of the cable news program, The O'Reilly Factor, which began airing on FOX News in 2001, and is also a bestselling author of several books. He ran a popular radio show, The Radio Factor, until 2009.

Early Life Born William James O'Reilly, Jr. on September 10, 1949, in New York, New York, Bill O'Reilly graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie with a degree in history. He taught high school for two years in Miami, and then returned to school to earn a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University.

Books He has also written several books, including Killing Lincoln (2011), Killing Kennedy (2012) and Killing Jesus (2013).

Literary Work O'Reilly is also the author of numerous titles, including nonfiction bestsellers like The O'Reilly Factor (2000) and The No Spin Zone (2001), as well as novels like Those Who Trespass (1998). He also released the controversial presidential thrillers Killing Lincoln (2011) and Killing Kennedy (2012), which have sold more than 5 million copies. He continued the theme of "killing" with the novel Killing Jesus (2013). Although the novel's title suggests the book would have strong Christian overtones, O'Reilly insisted that it focuses on history more so than religion.

Broadcast Career O'Reilly's television news career began in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In 1980, he returned to New York to anchor in and join CBS as a news correspondent. In 1986, he moved to ABC News, where he received two Emmy Awards and two National Headliner Awards for excellence in reporting during his three- year tenure.

“The O’Reilly Factor” Upon leaving Harvard, the startup FOX News Channel hired O'Reilly to do The O'Reilly Factor. With hard- driving interviews, blunt commentary and an oversized ego, O'Reilly deals with the nation's most important issues in an atmosphere referred to as the "No Spin Zone." In 2001, The Factor became the country's most watched cable news program. Shortly thereafter, he expanded his media presence to include a weekly syndicated newspaper column and a national radio show called The Radio Factor, which ran from 2002 to 2009.
