Presentation transcript:

Transferring the design to CAD – 2D Design Cutting out the design using CAM Folding using a strip heater….. ….. and jig Applying graphics to the final product. Designing by modelling with card In this presentation we are going to focus on making your final product.

Getting ready for Making Once you have completed your card models and decided on your final design you will need to copy it into 2D Design Save your finished design and prepare to cut the shapes out using CAM equipment e.g. Camm2 or laser cutter. Also print 3 paper copies of your final design, these will be helpful to develop and test your ideas for any graphics you may want to add to your storage product.

Cut the shapes of the product you designed on a suitable CAM machine

Mark your folds with a pencil then bend to shape using a hot wire strip heater.

The next animation shows you how to fold a mobile phone holder to the required shape. Use a jig/former to bend and hold your work to the required shape. Allow to cool before removing.

Mark fold lines with pencil then fold to shape using the strip heater Now click the mouse for the animation.

It’s as easy as that!
