Acropolis

Is considered the most important ancient monument in Europe, built around the V century BC by Pericles after the Persian wars given way to Greek democracy.

His initial role was that of military strength, since its location allowed for a great view the all city, was subsequently used as a religious center dedicated to the goddess Athena and then as residential site.

The Parthenon on the Acropolis is the most emblematic buildings of ancient Greece.

In our time, the Parthenon is an international symbol of Greek culture and illustrates their image appears on UNESCO's symbol representing culture and education.

The Acropolis in Athens must be considered one of the 7 wonders of the world, because it is a living symbol of the historical evolution of this city.
