OBPG Update Data Processing & Distribution

Sea Surface Temperature Approach - Aqua forward stream - Verify level-2 consistency - Binning methodology - distribute BEST quality data - GHRSST products - NASA-funded JPL activity - Aqua Mission reprocessing - Level-2/3 reprocessing for full mission complete - Full data product support on Ocean Color web and JPL-PODAAC (level-3) - MODAPS production and Goddard DAAC archive support ends when full mission available on Ocean Color web. -Transition completed March 1, 2006 for Aqua. - Repeat above steps for Terra/MODIS - underway

Evaluation Products Currently, FLH and Merged MODIS/AQUA and Seawifs chlorophyll-a are being produced routinely and are available for distribution on the Level-3 web browser and ftp sites. Calcite product is being investigated. The table below shows the increase in coverage over the single mission product realized through the merging of the Aqua and SeaWiFS data sets. Ocean Color Web Consolidated data access, information and services

SeaDAS 1)Continued extensive user support predominantly via extremely active online forums (the SeaDAS-specific forum had over 1100 posts in 2005) 2)SeaDAS ported to the Macintosh OS X operating system; works on Panther (10.3) and Tiger (10.4) 3)Redesigned GUI and website are now much more user-friendly 4)New simple online installer and four SeaDAS ftp mirrors (Australia, Brazil, Japan, UK) 5) SeaDAS-lite option for display/analysis only (~50MB download) 6)Better mechanisms for syncing SeaDAS with production system.
