Cost of the war At the end of 2008, the estimated amount for the war in Iraq was1.6 trillion dollars. That’s not including the cost of medical care for returning soldiers and veterans and the cost of disability benefits. The cost to send one soldier over to Iraq for one year is 775,000 dollars.

Obama and the war Obama says that by the end of 2010 more then two thirds of the 142,000 troops will be withdrawn

On August 14, 2007 the deadliest single attack of the war occurred. Nearly 800 civilians were killed by a series of suicide bomb attacks on the northern Iraqi settlement of Qahtaniva. More than 100 homes and shops were destroyed in the blasts.
