PLAAFP …True or False? The PLAAFP is the place for diagnostic test results PLAAFPs must be positive statements PLAAFP statements are ability statements, what can the student do PLAAFP statements are only filled in for areas that are related to or impacted by the students disability The PLAAFP is written after the IEP is generated PLAAFPs need to be talked about in an ARD

PLAAFP Overview What is a PLAAFP? PLAAFP Data Resources STAAR Modified Documentation Quantitative vs. Qualitative Disabilities Readiness Standards Focus Baseline Data Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance Aimsweb, Teacher made tests, Curriculum Based Measures, Lexiles, DRAs, Read 180, Work Samples etc. Must be 2 or more grade levels below enrolled grade level Example: Autism and OHI impact multiple areas Example: ELA: Focus Reading Fluency Lead4ward.com Measurable and Observable data Current data on where student is functioning

PLAAFP Guidance What is the student’s eligibility? Do I have baseline data in the area related to or impacted by disability? Is that PLAAFP statement indicating the student is 2 or more grade levels below enrolled grade level? Can anyone understand my PLAAFP statement? What is my instructional focus? Do I have multiple data sources?
