Presentation transcript:

 Our goal was to design a device that raised a banner.  Parts were made from pieces of wood, PVC pipe, marbles, a spoon, and a set of dominoes.

 The device is started by a rod hitting a marble from the top of a ramp.  The marble travels down the ramp, hits a spoon that rotates outward, and sends another marble down a chute.  The marble shoots out and collides with a set of dominoes.  Work + UE grav KE  KE KE rotat  Projectile Motion  Linear Momentum

 After the last domino falls, it hits another marble, sending it down a tunnel.  At the end of the tunnel, the marble lands in a cup balanced on a plank. The plank tilts and displays our banner.  KE + UE grav KE  Center of Mass

 Our project took 2 ½ hours to build.  Several adjustments were made to keep the marbles in place.
