Need for Permanent and Temporary Accounts ●Accounts used to accumulate information from one fiscal period to the next are called permanent accounts. ●Permanent accounts are also referred to as real accounts. ●Accounts used to accumulate information until it is transferred to the owner’s capital account are called temporary accounts. ●Temporary accounts are also referred to as nominal accounts.
