AFACT Website Report Iran Center for ecommerce Development 33 rd plenary meeting

overview 1.Introduction 2.Step One: Making the Blueprint 3.Step Two: Planning 4.Step Three: Design 5.Step Four: Development 6.Step Five: Testing 7.Step Six: Maintenance

Problem Description – AFACT Website crash reported to us a few weeks after the 33rd mid-term meeting –The DNS of the AFACT website was changed anonymously and the registrar Network Solutions company asked for several authorization documents to submit information of the new registrant. – after several follow ups and receiving comments from StC members, it was confirmed that a new domain to be purchased.

AFACT New Domain – was purchased as the new URLwww.unafact.org – Due to the concerns of StC members regarding the naming of the new URL, another domain was purchased : - the process of developing new website was designed - Initial consultation with the web coordinator (Mr.Ishigaki ) and the web master (Ms. Bagheri ) in order to determine new needs and requirements.

Step One: Creating the Blueprint The following factors were taken into consideration: – Goal of the website – Target Audience – Content – Interactivity

Using the information gathered from step one, we put together a plan for AFACT web site. This was the point where a site map is developed. The site map is a list of all main topic areas of the site, as well as sub-topics, if applicable. This serves as a guide as to what content will be on the site, and is essential to developing a consistent, easy to understand navigational system. Step Two: Planning

Step Three: Design Based on the target viewers and readers of the website as well as the requirements defined by web coordinator, a prototype was designed for AFACT web site

Step Three: Design

Step Four: Development All graphical elements from the prototype were used to create the actual, functional website. Home page, followed by a “shell” for the interior pages were created. The shell served as a template for the content pages of AFACT website, as it contained the main navigational structure for the web site.

Step Four: Development (Cont.) On the technical front, a successful web site requires an understanding of front-end web development. This involves writing valid HTML / CSS code that complies to current web standards, maximizing functionality, as well as accessibility for as many users as possible.

Step Five: Testing At this phase, Functionality of forms or other scripts, final compatibility checking were done And a pilot phase with the help of web coordinator was performed to validate the coding and evaluate operation of the website. Thank to Mr Ishigaki, for his valuable support in this process and throughout the whole processes as well

Step Six: Maintenance The development of AFACT website has not been over yet. The key way to make is as effective as possible and to bring back visitors is to receive constant feedbacks from the members. As the saying, there is a long way to be perfect, but we have already started.

Thank You Prepared by: Mohamad Sharifpour Iran Center for eCommerce Development (ICeCD) Dec. 2015
