Let Your Light Shine ~ learning to care and to lead for today and tomorrow

What makes you happy?

Play Make Someone’s Day Be There Choose Your Attitude

Play - enjoy your day! Work made fun gets jobs done, especially when we choose to do work with a smile on our faces. Play isn’t just something we do at playtimes; it’s a state of mind that helps us work in class better. Play helps us think creatively. Play helps us work better together.

What can you do to make your class work more fun? How can you involve your friends to make your work easier? How can you use enthusiasm to inspire your team?

Make Someone’s Day! When you make someone’s day (or moment) through a small act of kindness, you can turn even routine work into special memories. Helping someone, encouraging them and offering to help suggest that you are sensitive to the needs and feelings of others.

Schools of thought … Have you ever had a bad day at school, or been in a bad mood? Have you ever been upset? What helped you get over it? Did someone make you smile? What do you do to put others in a better mood? Be positive and show sensitivity to the feelings of others, especially when you see someone who is sad or needs help.

Be There! Be there for someone who needs you. Give 110% to your work demonstrates cooperation among group members, shows enthusiasm and dedication to the project and says that you care.

Choose Your Attitude! When you look for the worst, you will find it everywhere. When you choose your response to what happens to you, you can look for the best and make things better! If you find yourself with an attitude that is not what you want, choose a new one!

Choose Your Attitude! Think about when you were having a bad day. How would your day have been different if you had been committed to NOT being upset? If you had been in a good mood, how might have you reacted differently to some of the negative things that happened?

How will you …? Create a fun, happy environment whilst still putting 110% into your work? Be someone who makes someone else’s day? Be totally present? Choose the attitude you would like to have everyday? Think about your friends and who you are working with.

ONE GREAT IDEA!

Look to the future Choose to make today a great day! Your classmates and YOU will be thankful! Find ways to play. We can be serious about our work without being serious about ourselves.

Look to the future Stay focused in order to be there when your friends most need you. If you find this difficult, find someone who needs some help, a word of support, or someone to talk to… and make their day!

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done On Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory. For ever and ever. Amen
