More boys (43%) caught rides to school than any other means of transportation. 35% rode the bus while only 22% used personal transportation such as biking, skateboarding or walking.

Question 6 Do you think mode of transportation is independent of gender? Give statistical evidence to support your conclusion. The way the students get to school does seem to be independent. Of gender. Overall 34% of the students ride the bus, compared to 35% for the boys and 33%for the girls. 44% of all students caught rides with someone, compared to 43% for the boys and 44% for the girls. 22%of all students used personal transportation which is almost the same as 23% for the girls and the same as the 22% for the boys. These data provide little indication of the difference in mode of transportation between boys and girls at this school.
