Relay For Life of Hoboken May 17, 2008 Pier A Park Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature overnight activity. This event celebrates the lives of cancer survivors, remembers those who have lost their battle, and gives a community an opportunity to fight cancer and raise funds collectively. Relay For Life takes place in many communities throughout the Spring and Summer across Essex, Hudson and Union counties. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Relay For Life brings together millions of people from all walks of life- friends, family, coworkers, caregivers- all with the common goal of eliminating cancer. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lives lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
