Grammar: Apply to Writing – Verbs for Now and the Past Writing with verbs for now and the past lets readers know when things happen. walks, hopes, picks are these verbs for now or the past? Let’s make them into verbs for now.

First, Frog gives Toad some seeds. Next, Toad yells at the seeds but they do not grow. Finally, the seeds get water and sunlight and they begin to grow. Could the events in this story take place in a different order? Why or why not?
