Technology 8

Technology is the use of tools, machines and/or skills to solve a problem or meet a need.

 Manufacturing  Construction  Transportation  Bio-Related Technology  Communication

 Technology requires resources to solve problems and meet needs  Resources are the things we use to develop and implement technology  REMEMBER T.I.C.T.E.M.P

 Used to convert materials into a finished product

 Knowledge of machinery, materials, costs, safety etc. in creating a product or solving a problem.

 Includes the money, land and equipment needed to use technology

 Time is required to produce products and solve problems.

 Energy is required to power systems, machines, factories, and to transport products and materials.

 Natural or synthetic materials are needed to convert into a finished product.

 The most important resource! People create the need and want, design, produce and market these products.
