ET/New Terminal Forecast Expert Team on New Terminal Forecast Established by WMO Commission on Aeronautical Meteorology-XIII Current ICAO Annex 3 products do not address user needs for the wider terminal area of busy airports The Expert Team would: Develop proposals for a new terminal weather forecast adapted to the needs of the 21st Century In close cooperation with relevant bodies of ICAO Assess current initiatives and previous work in this field Collaborate with ICAO on evolving user requirements and a potential new terminal weather forecast, with a view to world-wide adoption in 2014 Prototype and assess a new terminal weather forecast in terms of expected user benefits and facilitation of performance assessment

ET/New Terminal Forecast NTF is designed for high traffic aerodromes - Member states with medium or low traffic loads would not be expected to implement - NTF could be used to assist developing countries in progressing toward enhanced aviation services - All flight crews operating to high-density aerodromes will need knowledge of NTF for operations Who operate in terminal area ? Air traffic management, pilots, airlines, airport management NTF is designed for these operators who need to share the same information and to have same situational awareness
