Construction Contracts [CUE304] Dr. Ahmed Elyamany 1

Overall Aims To provide an introduction to overview of the construction contracts for construction. Introduce the Egyptian law of tenders and construction contracts. Find out the importance for using this knowledge of “Contract of construction” and how can it affect the construction industry too much. 2

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs( A. Knowledge and understanding:  Knowledge of Construction Contracts.  Knowledge of different types of Construction Contracts. B. Intellectual skills  Express ideas in Construction Contracts.  Evaluate obtained results both individually or as a part of team. C. Professional and practical skills  Carry out modeling and optimization of Construction Contracts. 3

Types of construction contracts: Design and build contracts The privatized approach Concept of management contracting Selection of a contractor and a contract Identification of strategic factors.
